Keys For Life Programme

Social and emotional skills programmes for children of all ages

A strong social and emotional education offers essential life lessons in how to behave well, make good decisions and build healthy relationships. It is the missing piece in education that kids need to succeed and be happy. There is nothing more important to childhood development than self-expression and self-awareness.

A child must be able to express what he or she wants and how he or she feels with freedom and safety. Children who do not grow up in an environment of respect, love, and compassion often find difficulty opening up to others as they grow up and often experience many different mental and emotional pitfalls. It is no secret that allowing your child to express his or her feelings, emotions, thoughts, and creativity in a safe environment is one of the most beneficial parts to raising a child. All kids need social and emotional intelligence to thrive.

Now that brain science offers a whole new understanding of how intellect and emotions work together, educators are rethinking old ideas about how children learn and what defines intelligence. Instead of a narrow focus on academic achievement alone, evidence continues to mount that building the social and emotional intelligence of children provides the missing piece of their education.

Our social and life skills programme has more than 50 modules that cover various areas, including the following:

- Bully-proofing
- Conflict resolution
- Decision-making
- Effective communication strategies
- Emotional awareness and management
- Expression of feelings
- Friendship skills
- Manners and respect
- Party etiquette
- Public speaking skills
- Responsible behaviour
- Self-worth and self-confidence
- Social skills

The various modules can be customised to suit various learning outcomes and can be held either as camps or weekly enrichment classes.
